I did briefly, but much preferred Darwinia. I must fish them out again and give them another play through...

I've got this. Played it a few times but didn't hold my interest too well. I'll have a few games though if anyones up for it.

There is a newer version called ICBM. It expands the concept by introducing production and development tracks for each player, rather than DEFCONs simple and limited handful of units. Much better.

Loved it and Uplink from same company.

Good fun playing both on planes, especially Uplink smile

Shall have to check out ICBM as I thought Defcon was great.

Ironically I'm part way through a replay of World in Conflict...

Ahh, that's a favourite of mine, and probably the game I've played to completion most of any I own. It's a good mix of story, gameplay and length. Probably only takes around 12hrs to complete the whole thing (including the Russian expansion pack, which was beautifully executed given that the missions were intertwined with the original story, rather than being separate) so you can enjoy and complete it over a couple of days.

Might just go and play it again now....

It still looks and plays great too. Did you know there are still public multiplayer servers? I jumped on with a few mates a month ago and had great fun. I think the multiplayer client is actually free of charge.
