Recently acquired GT5, love it but need a wheel.

Cant seem to get hold of this wheel anywhere.

Any tips, any comparable wheels at the same cost? Anyone wanting to get rid of one?

Cheers.

I found Argos had some stock that was on order, try and reserve it at a local store and then you have 3 days to pick it up. They even text you when it has arrived. £80.

Already checked Amazon, 1 used item available with missing parts. Id steer well clear, would rather wait a week and get a new one cheaper from a renown seller.

You can buy mine if you want - I really never use it.....I bought it for myself for my birthday and have used it maybe three times. As new in the box.

PM me - make me an offer - Am in East London but can post it tomorrow.

Have searched high and low for a reasonably priced Driving Force GT. I am NOT going to pay the over-inflated prices around at the moment especially as it's meant to be available new for £79. Even second hand versions are going for way above £100 mark on fleabay.

Looks like I'll have to wait until Argos get around to getting some more stock in. grumpy

They going for silly money on eBay, fingers crossed Argos will get some stock in the week.

Sorted myself out a decent stand set up for it, will get a pic up when my wheel turns up, tomorrow hopefully.

I was lucky, started this thread and a fine gentleman piped up and offered me his used wheel at a very decent price. Turns up and is virtually brand new. Cheers Neil.

Right anyway i was about to post about how it is, well lets say i have probably had the most enjoyable time i have ever had on a gaming console in the past hour or so.

Ive got a nice makeshift seat and stand which is well perfect for what i need, the stand for the wheel is a modified shoe rack from argos http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8... , the seat is a gaming chair i had lying around, but can be had cheap http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5... and for the pedals i made a small timber wedge to angle them up slightly as the chair is quite low.

Obviously it doesnt look as fancy as of of these metal framed ultimate jobs, but for £15 it suits me perfectly and the wheel fits perfectly in my lap.

Couple pics below, one of the set up alone and the other with the OH giving a MCS some beans (what she drives).

If you want some pure enjoyment get a wheel, set it up decently and crank your surround sound up. I had a TVR tamora going round Trial mountain constantly for aaaages, it was brilliant. You can be so much more precise, can balance the throttle in the corners, turn it at just the right time and the force feedback is pretty realistic aswell. I set a half decent time on the joypad of 1.36ish 2nd lap in the car on that track, did the same thing on the wheel and put in a 1.33 on the second lap.

Defintely recommended.

i gave my wheel a baptism of fire on monday night. Had a warm up with the nascar special events to get my eye in, then took to the ring to try the nascar event trying to drag that heap of ste round germanys finest! I had to revert back to a controller to post a time. Plenty of practice for me ahead to get used to using the wheel before i'm competitive with it

Thanks for the heads up, just reserved one.

I had previously signed on to the text back service, but I guess the notification will only happen when the stock actually arrives in store.
