Recommend me a RPG for PC
Discussion
After messing around for a long time on Pocket Legends on my phone, I feel the need to get some RPG action on my PC.
I've played Fallout and Borderlands but these strike me as more FPS than the RPG I imagine with dragons and huge sledgehammers in 3rd person.
So I put it out to the gaming PHers to recommend me a RPG that fits the bill

Depends on the style of RPG you want. As mentioned Knights of the old republic (1 and 2) are worth a play and similar to Mass effect 1 and 2 in character progression (good old Bioware - keep an eye on steam's sale) . But for old school rpg try Temple of elemental evil from good ol' games (GOG.com)

Or online, to really suck away your free time. World of Warcraft or Lord of the Rings Online.
This, I was never really into online games untill an in-law, asked me to join up at the same time as him on Lord of the Rings, wasnt sure of it, but a year later I have VIP acount several characters, am a member of several kinships and generally lost the will to go out. Every one tells me WOW is better and for that reason I dare not try it for fear of loosing the last of my life
Before this Oblivion was my falvour of RPG addiction, now might be a good time to get into it as there is a new one out on the 11/11/11, when I might finally give LOTRO a break and go back to offline RPG's

Oblivion is still one of my favourite games on the current generation consoles, I dread to think how many hours I've spent playing it. I still go back to it now and then to do a bit of dungeon clearing and weapon collecting. I really can't wait for TES: Skyrim! If you didn't like Fallout 3, then you're not going to like Oblivion.
Same game...but swords and arrows, instead of guns and sledgehammers
I've lost days playing Dragon Age: Origins though.
That is a very good RPG. The same goes for Mass Effect 1&2, though I haven't played those......yet

Have to disagree, one is very much and RPG, the other is an FPS with PRG bits thrown in. Though they both have the same style interface, I am pretty sure VATS wouldnt work in Oblivion.Same game...but swords and arrows, instead of guns and sledgehammers

At least that's my feeling after playing them all.
