I should be able to join in at least some races for a while as there's currently no actual racing for me to be at. Although I've not touched Rfactor for months so my abilites are likely to have lessened still further! paperbag

Cool. Wasn't sure if I'd missed it already.

Recommendations of which cars to pick? I've used the 635 thing before, but that's all.

Also note even if you already have the mod you will need the PH league version on the link or you will get missmatch errors.

They will all be competitive this time, try them all. It will be just a driving preference smile

The server is being rebuilt, should be up before 7pm - will send a note once it is running.
Nothing back yet, assume that tonight is postponed if you do not see any further update by 7.30.

We will try again on Wednesday night if that is good for you guys ?

Yeah, me too. Not done much with this mod, and never tried the track. No problem being offline for tonight. What's a good laptime around here?

Also, this will be my first real go with my new wheel and pedals. (getting my excuses out early)

I've been having connection issues tonight anyway. I'll try and be in on Wednesday although I'm off to the Autosport show very early the next day so might not make it in.

Right been trying all the cars, not happy with the Holden sounds (and a couple of others) but you can change SFX files with any other mod you have without miss-match errors just copy in the SFX file you want to use (for instance another V8, maybe the ISI Panoz or V8 Factor) rename the old SFX file to a backup and name the new SFX file to the the name the old one had before you changed it.

Despite all the cars being different, you should be able to do the same lap time in them all but with the default setup it's a case of driving the car that suits your driving style in terms of handling and if you want sharp control and late braking or a bit of understeer, fast in a straightline but bad brakes.

In terms of sound I like the down change chirp on the Supra, sounds like a squirrel being squashed each time. biggrin

I did a few Race Department races (2 or 3?) with the Supra - nice enough, but I tend to get fidgety towards the end of the race, and then I get caught out with a snappy car. I am thinking the E30 might be the one for me - bit slow, but nice and darty and good on the brakes.

Quick question, is this the correct version of rFactor to buy or is it the white cover'd one?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rfactor-PC-DVD-BRAND-NEW-FAC...

Also, Where is best to download extra cars & tracks and do you have to pay for them? Can you also make your own in-game?

May play it on-line but mainly just against AI offline.

Looking for a racing game to play whilst b-spec'ing GT5.

Thanks
