PS3 Hardware Problem - Help!
Discussion
I am pretty clueless about these things so excuse my ignorance/stupidity. I have a PS3 that is about 3 years old. Mostly used by my kids (aged 7 & 8), but I also use it when I can. It is not connected to internet, but I do update games some times. Yesterday it forze midway through a GT5 session and switched itself off. The power light on the front just flashed red. I switched it off for a while and then restarted it. IT styaed on for a few minutes and then did the same thing. I have done a bit of reading around and the only reference I have seen to this issue is in the PS3 manual which says the machine may be overheating. Nothing has changed about the placement of the machine, so I am a bit perplexed as to why this would happen. Tonight I will check that the vents are not clogged with dust, and I'll connect it up to the iinternet to make sure I have the most recent system software. Anything else I should be doing?
