Does Black Ops screw with your PS3?

For the past couple of nights me and 3 other mates have had awful trouble with Black Ops - ie. being kicked out of our own parties etc..

Also it seems to make my ps3 extremely slow to the point where it freezes a lot of the time warranting a reboot.

But tonight it actually deleted one of my friends meaning that we had to re-add each other...

Yeah it makes my ps3 very slow to load the friends list etc. Freezes every now and again.

I still have the PS3 from the launch day (60gb i think) which is known to die on you when the fans get cracking, when I got black ops, I thought the thing was going to take off, it nearly killed my ps3, havent played it since, which is gutting, I reckon one more game of black ops and this ps3 is a gonna!

Yep, my bro has the 80gb version and it fooked his up. I had to reset once last night.

Also does this happen to anyone else. Lately the menu has been acting up. I move through the menu of the game and looks like its refreshing at every movement (kind of crackly), not sure if it's just mine or PS's in general.

Heard of these issues on the couple of days ago.
There's patches to cure the glitches I hear?
