Single Player Campaigns - Do you play them?
Discussion
I am currently playing the Single Player Campaign in Medal of Honor on the xbox and I am finding it very realistic and great fun. Having completed the SPC for Black Ops and MW2 it set me wondering how many of us actually play the SPC on the games we buy. Do we only play the muliplayer mode online?
For those who haven't played the MoH SPC I can tell you IMHO it's well worth the time and effort to play. It has amazing graphics, exciting gameplay and some incredible set-pieces.
MW2 SPC was an amazing experience *****
Black Ops ***
Battlefield Bad Company 2 ****
Homefront still playing ***
Metro 2033 **
Red Dead Redemption ****
Halo Reach ***

I usually always play the SPC before going online.
Biggest dispointment for me was Black Op's, I did complete it but thought the story was disjointed, the respawning enemys were pathetic, it felt like i was watching it rather than playing at times. I was so disapointed i traded it in and didnt even bother with it online.
Recentish favorite was Halo Reach (Via Co-op campaign), awesome game and big landscapes make a refreshing change to the COD/GOW type games.

I rarely go on-line these days, I used to be hardcore in CS and DoD but none of the modern FPS really hold my interest very much. Plus I hate the leveling and perks that seems to be the rage at the moment. A high ranked player will have experience and better weapons/armour/equipment than a new player. Not a level playing field.
Best Single player I've tried in the last year = Batman:Arkham Asylum, brilliant stuff 5 out of 5.

I always play the single player campaigns before starting to play online. I find that it gives me the best feel for the game before then starting to play against real people.
That said, CoD haven't been brilliant in SPC, yet have absolutely loved the online element, so this doesn't always work. I'll still give the SPC a bash though before challenging others online. If the game was developed with an SPC then the least I can do is start there and see how they've done.

Really enjoyed the single player campaigns of MW1 and MW2, really good and the atmosphere was perfect. Also Arkham asylum was amazing, shows the Assasins creed series what they could have been. I was also shocked recently on how good Halo Reach was, more of a Modern warfare feel to it and alot less super jumpy whilst stickying 50 grunts.
Enjoyed Battlefield bad company 2 but not as much as MW1 and MW2, really didn't like Black Ops felt like a very linear interactive film. Far to hollywood for my liking.
All I can say about the Gears of War games is they are awesome and I'm looking forward to the next one.
