Have they improved the control of the car.using a controller rather than a steering wheel?

I hope so! IMO the cars take too long to turn in on fast corners and the cars dont feel that nimble like they are in real life.

It will be interesting to see how they lay out the controls this time, with the KERS and adjustable rear wing as they left out basic adjustments like brake balance last time!

Also the cars feel wierd through some 4th gear corners, in the dry they feel like they're spinning up the inside rear wheel. Having never driven a contemporary F1 car i'm only able to speculate, however I would be surprised if this was accurate and the case in real life

It was quite a day when I brought F1 2010.

I had it delivered after reading all about the realistic level of difficulty and how even game developers had struggling to get a HRT or Lotus into the top 12 in a race and thought, great a Geoff Crammond rebirth for PS3.

Played it qualified on pole in a Lotus at the season opener at Bahrain on the hardest level with all aids off. I went in to win by miles with Chandrok finishing second, although I did read about a pit bug and various other faults for this.

Later that day it was on eBay......

I seriously am looking forward to this, the last one was a good starting point in my opinion.

Try of without a steering wheel, It took me 2 weeks to complete a lap without crashing.

A longer less restrictive career please.
Also being able to pay for a drive with race winnings.

It would be nice to be able to drive some bonus cars for winning championships.
The Mercedes w196 and Mclaren MP4/4 through monaco would be awesome.
Unlikely they would do it though.

More of a lifestyle feeling with it. I don't know how it could work, but there needs to be a reason why we earn the in game money! Nothing to spend it on! Maybe some sort of endorsements too, more interactive press conferences. Podiums & national anthems.

Maybe some sorts of classic cars (and circuits?!) available in game.

Also in career mode, pre-season test sessions like at Jerez and Valencia, where mods can be fine tuned.

I'm interested in how there will be enough buttons on the controller for KERS and the DRS though...

I would suspect the DRS will be automatic such as the F duct was in 2010.

Yes, I presume it would be the easiest way for them to implement it.

One other thing that needs sorting on the pad controls is the quickness of the steering when correcting a big slides. Its quick enough to catch the first bit of it, but if you get a slight tank slapper on the game cant keep up with the stick movements.

Id also like to see...

Varied looks and voices of crew members
Proper day to night races
Bonus cars and tracks
Fully manual pit entries and exits
Tv style graphics for positions and splits etc
the gravel traps are too good at slowing you down, especially in places like the exit of the Lesmos at Monza.

All good points, I`d add to the wishlist a ported over GRID style livery editor & the ability to save the replays for online races on the 360.

Sorting the screen tearing frame-rate lapses would be nice too..

I want commentary. The way 2010 was after the patch was near perfect. Maybe a few classic cars, and a classic race series would be cool.

Your own helmet designs would be good, full lock on steering wheel and classic f1 cars would be nice.

More simulation handling and better AI are the improvements I'm hoping for the most.

Dirt/dust and marble build up off the cleaner racing line as part of the track evolution is needed too.

How do you think the tyre degredation will be handled?

A less buggy game would be lovely.

I agree with most of the above, it certainly needs to be more difficult. Legendary AI are comfy now too overtake.

All bugs fixed and I would love too see actual lap sectors, more talk with Rob and safety car/warm up lap feature!
