Not played Crysis 2 yet. But I'm pretty sure the stories aren't really linked.
Yes the nanosuit is the same thing, but nothing is mentioned in the original Crysis about the suit being potential infection.
You get your suit in C2 from the team leader in C1. They are linked a bit, but not 100%.Yes the nanosuit is the same thing, but nothing is mentioned in the original Crysis about the suit being potential infection.
better than the first one? I thought the physics in the demo were a let down and felt very console like. In the first one you could throw people through walls and watch as they turned tables over filled with items or throw ammo crates at people and watch them all fly backwards through stuff etc.
Glad you can still kill people though I had a the impression it was just another xenos shooter

on the other hand I don't have to do a 15 click hike between bases , I can fart while cloaked and not have every Korean within 20 miles knowing exactly where I am, the basic enemies don't where comparable armour to a 20 billion dollar super suit and the aliens this time around can't take an entire gauss clip to the face and keep coming. But yeah the first one on the pc was waaaaay better.Glad you can still kill people though I had a the impression it was just another xenos shooter

Of course because I compaired the game play between the two did I? My point was that Crysis was ground breaking in terms of graphics and physics and the second one seems to be a back step in terms of tech.

It is, there's no denying it. The first was a PC game through and through, it had a a more complex suit control system which rewarded practice, the physics engine engine felt far more fluid and the graphics engine scaled with hardware and looked fan-facking tastic on high end cards.
The second one is a massmarket console fps shooter that happens to have been released on the PC too.
Do I blame crytek for doing this? Not really, but it is disappointing.
Playing it just now (on PC) and it is a great story, very immsersive which is something Call of duty et al have started eroding with the asumption that everyone wants to play online all the time.
I prefer a good story which i am part of, hence why i loved Crysis 1 where you could do what you wanted basically on the island. Though Far Cry 2 took this too far the other way and you didn't know what you had to do!
Only played Crysis 2 for about 3-4 hours so far, but took a break from gaming, so need to get into it again, as about 2/3 through Killzone 2 (i bought it so i knew story before playing Killzone 3, which is sitting on shelf mocking me with its lack of being played haha!)
