Who's got it, and who's played it already? I was lucky enough to be at home (instead of the office) this morning and give it a whirl for a few hours. Apart from the jumpy framerate, which considering the quality of the graphics is forgiveable, the game looks awesome. Excellent dialogue and character interaction, im not too sure about the combat system, i got killed very easily in the few battles i had, i guess i need to learn more about organising squad tactics rather than "going halo" on everyone. If you liked oblivion you will love this, the same kind of exploration and getting caught up in side quests is evident here, in my few hours of playing i ended up with 7 or so side-quest assignments. There are a few load time issues but its no different to oblivion, infact i'd say it loads a little bit faster. Can't wait to get home biggrin [hurry up 5:30!]

No one playing this yet ?

Got quite a bit further with this game, im in two minds at the moment, the AI seems very glitchy with allies often getting stuck with simple objects like boxes and generally doing dumb stuff, they die often in combat through a combination of never having enough health and deciding now would be a good time to inspect some flora in the corner of the room. It seems you have to manually guide them with "go there" squad commands during the heat of battle to prevent the inevitable suicide through procastrination. Also the combat sections are very difficult without prior planning, unless im jumping into missions not really designed for my low level characters. You are given a 6 wheeled vehicle to explore planets that has an halo like control system but implemented much worse resulting in some fustration when the target sights are pointing too near the vehicle. The dialog and story are first class however, some of the psuedo science background on what the "mass effect" is and its uses are well thought out and intruiging.

It looks absolutely enormous, missions wise, its similiar to oblivion were you can esaily queue up about 20 or so side quests and complete them at your convenience. The inventory system and object interaction is much more simplified compare to oblivion however, this might be a good thing though. This game has amazing conversation pieces, with very lifelike and convincing voice and motion acting.

I'm finding it very interesting. And not having a huge issue with the combat either...

Im not sure whether to buy this game. I dont really like many of RPG games that Ive tried. Although I did enjoy Oblivion. Its RPG menu based combat that doesnt apeal to me. Ill give it a try in a shop I reckon, once Ive finished assasins creed and made genral in COD4! ;-)
