Hi,

further to this thread, do you know of any tools which can identify the number plate, select it and blur it?

I'm guessing there must be some tool out there which can find a specific colour squence and and do a batch operation... It probably won't be that successful but better than nothing...

Probably, if you run the congestion charge operation and have a few million pounds. Other than that, PhotoShop.

It's thought polite to blur people's numberplates because to stick someone's car on the internet, often without permission, with their number showing could be interpreted as infringing personal freedom/confidentiality etc.

I don't think you'd get photoshop to do this as a batch operation.

i would involve samplig the colour of pixel and applying a filter etc to it.

white used on number plates tends to end up in the sky quite a bit

Quite! It was my way of saying you'd have to do it by hand. You'd need some sort of image recognition system to do it automatically.
