Quick poll here... is this an "arty photo" or an "absurd attempt at an arty photo"?

I used to get shots like that back in the days of film - you know when you were loading and winding the film on whilst not pointing it at anything in particular.

Oh It's definitely an 'arty photo'. I find it really quite gothic in it's intensity. A postmodernist study in urban depravation. Although a touch derivative, I find it very textural, perfectly integrated with a marvellous kind of negative capability. It's the perfect expression of reality based visualisation, where the photograph has become visible as an object containing an array of decisions, variables, and alternative narratives.

'Gothic' you say? I favour Sidereal Mediaeval myself, but appreciate that the blurring of boundaries as exemplified by Pugin render the comparison more than a little diaphanous...

What's the car behind the Golf? The rear lights say SEAT to me but I'm not sure. It looks like it has a 'Ring sticker on it but I'm struggling to work out what the car actually is.
