Top quality Photo printers? (pref in south?!)

Friend is looking for a real pro printer, preferably around the Portsmouth area, to print out some rather demanding photographs. The printer needs to be able to look at a print and adjust output as needed, rather than just stare blankly at a monitor pressing a big "print" button

Quality is absolutely paramount!
