CAMERA HELP PLEASE! DSLR screen not working

Hi all,
I am fairly new to photography, have had a little compact camera for years but not so long ago brought a Canon 450D off a friend, Penfold (You may have seen his work on Flickr)
Good camera at a good price, just bought a new lense and enjoying it taking pics like these:

Now, I was in London last week taking some photos, and it started to rain quite a bit, I didn't put the camera way incase of something nice driving past.... it was covered under my jacket, but this appears not to have made a difference
Having got it home and left to dry, the next day I went to use it I noticed the screen appeared quite grainy and lacked colour... took the battery and card out and left to dry some more, but today the screen is not working at all! The focus etc still works ok, and as far as I know pics are ok, but finding it hard to use without the aid of knowing the settings, and viewing photo back

Does anyone know how to sort this (if possible) really bad time for it to happen as Goodwood FOS is just a couple of weeks away!
Any help would be greatly recieved.

Try putting it in the airing cupboard. I had a phone that went through the wash, and worked fine after drying out.

Do that, or just imagine how us users of film feel.
