Canon 500D used prices?

I've been looking at upgrading my Canon 500D to a 60D, mainly to get the larger view finder, and rear wheel (as well as more bells and whistles). I had wanted to go for the 7D but the camera is a bit on the big size for lugging up hills and I don't think the extra expense or features would be worth it for me.

Any idea how much a used 500D with kit lens and 75-300 USM 3 are worth? I've been offered £350 for the lot from MPB, is £400ish a reasonable amount to ask for a private sale?

I won't be doing anything about this right now as the car is wanting a bit of TLC and it's looking like a big bill. Of course if I go for the 60D from Kelso for £690 and the car is less than expected I may get this sooner rather than later.
Then I'd need to buy a new bigger zoom of course....


This is Mr Dobblers fault, he let me have a shot of the 60D and started the ball rolling. The 7D was more out of reach and I was going to wait longer!
