PS advice please?

If you've got excessive shine as blown highlights, maybe try a second exposure with the Recovery slider up all the way to see what you can pull back, but better metering is going to be the winner for this. It's just that you can't do much about it now!
Get out of Jail Free option would be a freq separation using blur...flatten the image, create 2 new dupe layers and turn the top one off. On the first copy layer add gaussian blur at around 30px, then using a big soft brush get your foreground colour to that of similar skin, paint over the shine.
On the second layer, turn it back on, go to image/apply image. Make your source the blurry layer, invert the channel and change the blend mode to Add. Put the Scale to 2 and the Offset to 0 and change the layer blend mode to Linear Light. With just this layer on you should see something that would resemble a traditional high pass filter
Then see what that looks like. You can use the patch tool on the blurry layer as well if needs be
ETA, use inverted masks as well if you're only bothered about noses/foreheads

It took me longer to type it than it would have done to do it in PS really, but it's a technique that can give control over tone, colour and texture separately, which can be quite nice to have if there's a lot of variation in skin tone due to heat/flash etc
Not a huge fan of blur based editing as it can destroy detail but that one does have some advantages when used with a dodge and burn as well
