You're smarter than me - I tried every lens I could find and nothing seemed to project a visible image of the sun.
I managed to take some pics of the eclipse in 1999 by pointing the camera straight at the sun and holding some card behind the eyepiece - but then the sun wasn't at full blast!

simpo two said:Not really - I was using a terrestrial telescope to get the image in the first place. You could do the same with binoculars. Just don't look through them to aim it!

I then simply took a macro image of the projection Sun
