Buying from European dealers - any experiences to relate?

Just wondering if anyone here regularly buys (or knows anyone who buys) from European based dealers, in particular in Germany.
Any companies to avoid? Any companies particualrly good?
I've discovered a site that seems to offer quite competitive prices for certain German manufactured photographic products. They sell a wide range of photo kit, according the their web site, for which prices broadly compare with UK web sales prices. Some variations but in general they are about the same. But for certain products they seem to be able to offer very keen prices.
The web site is clearly intended for UK customers being translated (it has to be for me to be able to use it!
) passably well and with the prices showing in sterling.
Shipping costs seem to be reasonable. Not really any more than people expect in the UK for 'local' P&P.
Any thoughts or should I just go ahead and be the guinea pig (subject to more research about the product)?
