Hi Guy's,

Took this today at supercar Sunday (not the greatest photo I know...)

How can I get rid of the girl on the right? I've already 'removed' two people and a kiosk (which was fairly easy as I just copied the sky over then. The Girls a bit more tricky as theres bushes, gravel etc.

I'm using Paint Shop Pro 7 (and not too sure what all functions do or how to use then).

All advice welcome.

I'm assuming you don't want to 'crop' the right hand side of the picture instead?

I had thought of cropping the picture and also loosing a bit of the sky and road - but I can't get crop to work (I'm probably doing something wrong - but what I don't know!) I use the crop tool - it draws a box and thats about it, it doesn't seem to get rid of anything outside the box what am I doing wrong?

As far as I remember with PSP7 when you draw your box with the crop tool just double click inside the box and it should crop everything outside the box or if you are using the selection tool where you get a dotted line around where you draw, once you have drawn your box just hit the control & R keys and it should crop to selection.

Cheers

Or, if you prefer menus, draw the crop rectangle and then move your mouse up to the menu bar. One of the drop-down menus contains the command "crop to selection".

I'm at home today with not much to do, if you want to email it to me I'll have a play.

I'm not promising anything amazing, I'm still very much a novice! (But I can crop!)

Shift "R" is what you'll want. Crt "R" is rotate.

In PSP7

Click View (from top menu next to FILE EDIT 'VIEW')

At the bottom it says 'toolbars'

Click on this. You should then see a list of available toolbars. Click the check box next to 'tool options'

A little box will appear on the screen.

Now whatever tool you use i.e. 'crop' options will come up in this little box.

Drag the crop tool over your picture, click on 'crop image' which will appear in the new toolbar you have opened.

Your image is now cropped (hopefully)

I wanted to use this as a screensaver...

however I have had problems trying to remove the image of the Sagaris and place on a better background...

Have tried Paint shop pro but this seemed to take an age and the results were poor... anyone want to have a go at sorting this for me???

I can mail the original image....

Thanks in advance & how mean does that car look

You haven't - you've cropped them out surely?
Now throw away PSP and get PS! Then we can all help you

Chris, I've played with your pics but your email address is rejecting them.

I'll upload them to my webspace and email you the links later today.

I've only cropped the girl on the right. The other two and the kiosk on the far left I used the 'clone' tool and put the sky over them.

Been thinking about getting PS as thats what every body else uses - is it a better package?

Hi Jo,

Emailing the links will be fine thanks, although it seems Odd - shouldn't reject them.

Thanks for looking at them for me.

I can't comment as I don't know PSP - and I'm very much a dabbler in PS - but it seems to be the industry standard and more people will be likely to solve Qs! The cut-down versions of PS seem good too.

NB Pic looks fine to me!
