Compact to complement NEX5

I traded my Canon 40D and lenses in for a Sony NEX5 when they first came out and have not looked back.
The NEX is small, but not small enough to take everywhere, so I have started looking for a pocket-sized compact to use along side it.
I have been trying a Sony TX10. I love the size and the rugged/waterproof ability may come in useful. Video seems good, but I just can't get stills that I am happy with, despite all of the modes and options.
The camera will be used in a variety of situations and low light shooting will be a priority. I am prepared to go without a long zoom for the sake of the physical size of the camera.
I am drawn towards the Canon S95. It is a bit bigger than I wanted, but it's larger sensor might make a bit of difference to the IQ. It is also quite cheap now it is about to be replaced. Would it be much better than the Sony with all of it's tricks?
Any other recommendations?
