Clever/cool uses for a Go Pro

Just came across this, a Go Pro strapped a a radio controlled plane.

It struck me there must be loads of imaginative uses for these. Anyone seen any good ones?

James May's Manlab used GoPros when they sent the animal ashes into space on the balloons.

Over on the YT thread, there's an amateur rocket that uses them too with impressive results even if the friction does appear to melt the lens off one of them...!!!

That is awesome - how does one go about learning to fly one of those things? Clubs? Books? Or just buy one and see what happens....

I can't decide whether he's extremely brave or extremely stupid! Looks worryingly close to natural selection in action as he attempts (not) to remove himself from the gene pool!

He has done a few of those and there is a TV documentary about him too. Brave? Yup. Stupid? Yup.

Hi Ralph, it's easier than you think, there are plenty of instructors around, budget approx £800 for training which is not legally required but will probably keep you alive and your arms out of the prop. Kit is motorbike money, once trained just fly anywhere (stay out of restricted airspace) for the cost of a few litres of fuel per hour It's the cheapest form of powered aviation.
