So - curiosity has got the better of me - anyone rushed out to buy one of these, or going to, or know anyone who has?

I confess to complete disinterest!

Bewildered as to why - spend the development budget on a proper camera!

Give it 18mths

Complete dis-interest in the actual cameras too
but as I said in a previous thread about the system:

"To me, the autofocus system is the only interesting thing about this camera, appearing to combine the accuracy of contrast detect with the speed of phase detect."

It seems like a wierd one but it has some definite positive points.

Super fast and accurate AF.
Large sensor vs g12 type cameras (obviously a bit smaller than mtf)
Sharp images
'Unflappable' metering.

OK cheap construction, large size for the sensor size vs mtf, poor controls etc but it does look like it has some reason to exist.

not the images ive seen - extensive aberation! My P7000 is considerably better.
