Wind farms/ turbines

Always fancied spending some time photographing wind turbines but none near me (south coast) that I'm aware of. With the holidays nearly upon us, figured I might have time to make the trek further afield but don't know where to head.

Anyone got any experience of visiting a multi-turbine wind farm- how's access (I'm only considering land-based turbines rather than offshore)? Any considerations other than wind-proof clothing?

Guess I'm prepared to travel south of Manchester/ Lincs and east of Devon.

Andy, come up to Skeggy there's a whole bloody forest of them a mile offshore,

Skeggy was bad enough before but with this lot parked out there it's really crap!

You should have a number of on-shore somewhere locations near you

Flew over an offshore farm coming back from Finland and looked great but I'm after onshore this time. Cheers for the map link though, hadn't seen that one before. There's a site in Kent that might do, otherwise looks like Northants or further

The one nearest me have got a parking area by them and you just open a gate and walk in.

I saw one in Wales when I was there. Just north of Borth IIRC

There are quite a few in Wales but usually only 4-5 at a time the ones that I've seen around the northern parts.

Tick Fen wind farm in Cambridgeshire isn't bad. Clicky. You can park on the access road, and the surrounding fields are all unfenced IIRC.

Give us a shout if you need more info. There ought to be somewhere nearer to you, though.
