Just an idea chaps, but when posting pictures could we not do them at 640x480? I know of the some definition is lost but we would all get the idea and those poor chappies still on dial up might get to look at some shots before bedtime.

I'm on Broadband and some of the threads at the moment take an age to load and are stupidly wide.

Good idea. Ted, how about a sticky with some posting guidelines, eg 800 pixels max in any direction; filesize <100Kb?

I always stick to max width 600px. Otherwise those with the small screens or 800 x 600 cant really see them (aside from any bandwidth considerations)!

People running 800x600 only type letters and don't deserve to see nice pix!

Agree with these comments.

When people post huge Pics I cant see all of the pic anyway and so dont usually bother looking at it properly. If a thread takes ages I dont bother with that either.

Anyway, surely you dont want any old bod nicking you nice big hi-res images.

There's no need to be resolutionist!

I normally have my browser windows quite small, so I also think it's a good idea to keep images to 600 pixels wide.
