Photoshop course

Due to the recent flurry of photoshop threads I'm noticing just how bad my skils are in this area. I'm pretty much self taught so far.
Can anyone reccomend a good course to teach me how to do things properly? I work offshore so things like night classes over a few weeks are not possible.
Would an online course be worthwhile?

I'd definitely recommend a look at Lynda.com. When I bought CS3 three or four years back I got a month's free subscription from Adobe and there was some great stuff by Chris Orwig. There's material covering from the basics of PS through to advanced post processing.

It may not be right for you as it is at quite a basic level, but I have learnt a lot from the photoshop tutorial DVDs that you get on the cover of many of the Digital Photography Magazines.

This is my first post on a forum.
I have spent a lot of time over recent year messing around with Photoshop and others. I have many copies of Digital Photo which I have found a great help because of the CD's supplied with them. More recently I have started buying Advanced Photoshop and Photoshop Creative they too have CD's. You can learn and practise at your own speed. I also make a visit to the NEC to the Focus on Imageing show which started today, I will be going on Tuesday. PhotoShop have a large area there with a show running all day featuring idea's. I aways come back home with things you want to try out. You can get help and videos at the PhotoShop web site as well.

I have some of Scott Kelby's books, and they are very good. I should imaging that Magazine is excellent.

An extra $100 per year on top of the subscription of $99 to get it delivered to the UK is a bit steep.

Digital edition is same price worldwide $99, as you would expect.

Thanks for all the replies. I liked Scott Kelbys books and $99 seems reasonable for a years subscription.

I'll have a look at the options here and see what looks best for me.

I can recommend Lynda.com especially Deke Mccleland's stuff His one on one course is instructive
