Portrait Professional Adverts

Is it just me that fed up with seeing adverts for Portrait Professional everywhere I look? Its starting to get really irritating!

What is it?

I hear there's some new interchangeable sensors out that can do really good portraits. You can use them to convert some types of older camera - obviously doesn't work with your latest Canikon stuff - I'll have a look on line for the details and try and post some links. But it's claimed that this is the next big step for professionals to use in portrait stuff - have you seen it?

It is worth a try is Portrait Professional, as long as you use it judiciously, you can go completely overboard which makes weird android faces, used properly it can really enhance a portrait.

I have tried it and found it mostly overdoes it. Not natural looking at all. Portraiture is streets ahead, quicker, more controllable and interfaces with PS superbly well. Use it a lot.

PP is not just 0/1 you know?

I find it great when used in moderation and only for some things it offers, mainly skin and eyes.

Also it's MUCH cheaper than Portraiture!

Agree, PP can give some very good and quick results if used very lightly. Of course it's possible to 'move all sliders to the right' and end up with a freak.
Will have a look at portraiture - sounds interesteing.

It's a bit like HDR isn't it, done right you don't know it has been done, you can however go overboard and end up with something very far from reality.

Exactly! If they spent their marketing budget on software development the product would sell itself. Top gear did a parody on Audi PP is going the same way.

Portraiture is miles better!

I've used it a fair bit and found it superb.

Great analogy with HDR - do it subtly and you'll never know it's been done. But yes, slide the sliders up to 100 and it looks awful. Just look at model's pages on PureStorm/Model Mayhem etc. to see how to do it very very badly

Yes. Just lazy editing. No excuse.

It seems, oddly, that a lot of the models do it to their own photos too (I've known that happen - not amused!) and they seem to like the overly fake look. I imagine because it hides every possible blemish, rather than because it looks good

And if you're fussed about the adverts, I think you can turn off the targeted advertising by clicking in the top right corner.
