UK's best vistas

Not sure if this should go in here or Travel, though I'm more interested in the opinions of the photographers than anyone else.
A few friends and I are planning on going away somewhere for a bit of a walking holiday somewhere within the UK for a few days (week max.) 2 of us a are reasonably keen photographers and I'm hoping to have the Canon 10-22mm I've been pining for by this point. We're not going purely for photography - but somewhere photogenic would be a big brucey bonus.
We'd all like to go somewhere where we can do a few hours of walking to get somewhere spectacular, have a breather and take some photo's then wander back down and I'm looking for inspiration as to a) what part of the country, and b) specific locations.
Personally I love the Lake District despite only doing the tame/easy to reach bits - the Lakes themselves, Old Man Coniston etc. But we're open minded - anywhere in the mainland UK is fine, though it'd have to be something special to go to Scotland. We're quite keen to take the more strenuous options provided the views are worth it - we're all pretty fit and should be well prepared by then.
I hope Ian from Lancs doesn't mind but I've posted his spectacular shot of Striding Edge to give a flavour of the sort of place I'm talking about. If anyone fancies sharing examples of the places they're talking about then so much the better - looking at some of the shots others have taken can only improve my composition etc.
So - any thoughts on where to? Lakes/Peaks/Snowdonia/somewhere else?

Like that spot Ian, I stayed in the Langdale Valley last year (Bayesbrown Farm - cracking place to camp) and loved it. Not sure if I've got my bearings right but is the other side of Stickle Tarn the main part of the valley running to the right of shot towards Church Stile (and with a route up Scafell to the left) ?

Scotland for me, north west in particular. However there are areas to walk from as little as 30 minutes north of glasgow

I would have to agree with that. The Pit Stops must have been very rapid.ETA only one piss/pitstop, in Teebay, Cumbria. RS6 has 85 ltr tank.
