GoPro Hero vs Hero 2 vs Drift HD170

Hello,
Can you please tell me which way to go on this one? The camera would be used for motorcycle TD and rides out.
Obviously the Hero 2 has just been released, is all new and shiny but is also £100-130 more than the remaining Hero in stock.
Looking at movies made on the Hero 1, I find it hard to justify the extra cash.
The curveball being the Drift HD 170 since it has got some features which appeal to me like remote control and rotating lens. Downside being the sound quality. (from the few review I found). Price is similiar to GP Hero 1.
Any experience to share?

I would get the Hero 1 for £153.
I have one and it is fantastic - really is all you need and totally indestructible!

You want this 32 GB one. You will regret not spending the extra tenner or so and going for 16 GB.Recording time will vary according to the resolution setting used and the card capacity.
Here are the average recording storage times for a 32GB SD card: 1080p (30 fps): 4h 21m 960p (30 fps): 5h 26m 720p (60 fps): 4h 21 720p (30 fps): 8h 09m WVGA (60 fps): 8h 09m

I'd be using severe amounts of black tack and cramming it into a corner or something.
It's weird, but both surfaces need to be clean and dry for the best longevity of the seal vacuum. If you have damp on the surfaces the suction seems better but it'll drift and come loose sooner.
Talking of loose, I'm just sat here reading a Manfrotto manual and they have written loose instead of lose

I bought a Hero2 a while back and it's really amazing for what it is!
Done on-car duty where it did very well for what it is, some night shot on-car duty where it did really well with some post work, then it did some nice time lapse video work, then it went gorge walking in deep water and knocked around a bit! It can do some really nice slow motion work too (set to NTSC to get extra FPS)...
It's just a bit of a do everything camera really. I paid £275 ish all in with the LCD back pack and motorsport kit. Bargain when you consider what it can do!
You will be more than happy with the HDHero I am sure

The 'other' problem with mounting outside is that the only audio one records is wind noise - so apologies for the lack of a V8 sound track (sounded good inside!)

I have a couple of GoPro HDs and have always been rather frustrated by the sound (and the rattle they all seem to make).
For use on the car, any mic outside just pics up wind noise, so I thought I'd try someting inside. Just messing about, these are the results: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQDTN7jtxfs. Steve - you may know of the mic used.

Isn't Pistonheads great! Not been your way for a while (too long) now campaigning a Fisher Fury with my wee brother at hill climbs and sprints. Wer'e a bit long in the tooth to be really competitive, but, hell, it's a hoot. Anyway, I just purchased a GoPro HD from amazon for fitting to said beastie and was just having a swift browse through the forum ,hoping, as you do, that you've made the right choice.
I can now relax in the knowledge that it gets your thumbs up.
Oh, by the way, love the video "Up The Hill". I've a great one from the BMW going the other way.
Hope your hoose is still weatherproof and warm.
