Does anyone know how to get this airbrush-like effect on photos? I have PhotoShop CS5.5 and I've tried some of the filters but I'm not seeing the same result yet...

Entire gallery containing more of the same:

There's a few apps, like Instagram, which will apply all kinds of effects to photos on the phone itself prior to upload to social media.

I can't access Facebook here, but would suggest searching for Photoshop Actions on sites such as ATNCentral and Deviantart.com smile

Looks like a bit (a lot) of HDR with the colours saturated, maybe a bit of softening/glow overlaid.

Looks to me like someone scored a "Dave Hill" style plugin moreso than a standard HDR plugin and just can't put it down... biggrin

Look in the music section for the sort of stuff I'm talking about...

Here's a link for how to achieve a Dave Hill effect:

Like HDR though, I think less can be more...

Closest filter I found was Diffuse Glow and that was based on what it did to the skin highlights rather than the overall background.

I suspect it is a mixture of a few filters.

That effect is called "Drama" and is a freebie I think on the iphone "Snapspeed" App.

another question might be... what would you ever want that effect on your photos? Those look fooking gash. Unless of course the aim was to make your subject look like they just crawled through 500 yards of st.

But if you want to know it looks to me like HDR/Tone mapping. This is what happens when people don't know how to use things like Photomatix or dont know when to stop playing with sliders in DPHDR.

Duh, everyone knows those sliders are labelled:
