Can anyone tell me which of these cameras is best?

Morning Photographers,
First off let me put forward that what i know about photography & cameras you could quite easily fit on the back of a postage stamp!
The camera is for a friend of mine who also has the similar knowledge of cameras!
These are cheap point & shoots & i've no idea which would be better suited for the use, (general use, birthdays, nights out etc).
Budget is £60 & i've narrowed it to these 2 as both seem reputable manucaturers!

Both seem fairly good deals, but i imagine that's down to the cameras having been super-seeded (sp) by newer models?!

At that price, you will get a far better camera used.
I have a Canon A710iS and was annoyed when they stopped making it as it's a great little camera. I bought my mother an A2100iS and it's the natural evolution and muc better than the one you've linked to.
Canon take some great pics but you get what you pay for so I would look at this used example:

You'll get some good photos, good options if you ever choose to take it off Auto and you get a reasonable 24fps video capability with a zoom while filming function.
Buying through Amazon gives you some staunch safeguards against poor quality if it turns out there is something wrong with it.
