Not quite, apparently. Page 8 of the forum posts for further information but as the kit was rented with a damage waiver a replcement body is on its way to the chap. Or that's how it reads.

Just goes to show how tough this kit can be. Yet drop it an inch at home and it'll probably shatter!! Isn't that usually how it works?!?

Hmm, he was 35 feet from a wild grizzly and complained that his tripod got chewed... he was actually debating whether to dump the kit or try and escape with it... That's how people get eaten.

Incidentally the D4 features in the latest Grays PR magazine and there's no mention of bear-proofness. Save it for the D5 eh?!
