You've got some great shots there.... you really have captured the atmosphere of the event...

Cheers saladin, I'm glad the atmosphere comes across as that was what I wanted to do. Might go to the next one in june...

Nice, looks like a fun day out. What lenses are you using? You have some mega dof in some shots!

I was using a D700 and a couple of primes, a 35 1.4 and an 85 1.4.
and was mainly shooting at either F16 or F1.4

Vignette added in postprocessing is fast becoming the new hdreverylastshot brigade but there are a couple of nice shots

Lovely set!

Really nice mood - got that unique, slightly eccentric, hill climb feel

Good mixture of shots too, like the use of the environment in the action shots too.

Thanks for commenting mate, tbh I think our taste in processing differs, although there are a couple of shot's where I would back off the vignette a bit if my processing routine wasn't 'mostly' automated and if I was processing them manually instead.

Thanks flat-planedCrank, I was after trying to make the images look a little 'different' as well as show the context/atmosphere of the event.

The Autumn classic or VSCC in August are IMHO better for overall atmosphere and photos. The June I think is a round of the Midland hill climb so not much else in the paddock.

You managed to avoid all the interesting French cars - especially the 2CV's!

Although I *do* love the Velosolex dong the hill - bet he had to pedal like hell at the hairpin half way round!

I got a picture of the CV's, but they were just snatch pic's as I was taking a portrait of the marshal at the time, and didn't have the right lens on.
