Went for a sail on the Solent on sat. Stuck a self adhesive pad on the boom months ago and has been sound until Sat when it let go. Good job it was tethered on. You can see it fall off about half way through.

My brother lost his GoPro Hero 2 in the sea! You'd have thought he would have learnt when he nearly lost it in my dad's pond!

I've not had a need to utilise the tether on mine but I've got a length of 'para-cord' tied to my suction mount with a small carabiner on the other end. It's wraps neatly around the arm of the mount when I don't need to tether.
