So - Where's The GOOD Magazine(s)?

OK, so just found:

....I got there by following a link to an Andy Powell interview, and whilst I'm not big into tech of guitars (but rather the guitarists) it was a great mix of print and interviews and concert footage. A proper experience. I think I'd love to have that land regularly if I was a guitar geek.

So where's the Photography equivalent???


I get so bored of the type of paper digital camera magazine out there. In a few months the articles seem to repeat on a cycle of what's in fashion, the quality of the reviews comes nowhere near dpreview and (in case of too many Nikon reviews) always seems factually inaccurate, and never really gets deep enough into a photographer and how he/she works (just search out the Andy Powell Interview part 3 for what I mean - ask someone what they're passionate about and seem them enthusiastically stroking their Flying Vs and Telecasters). I have seen some attempts at digital, interactive types that just mirror those paper ones without bringing anything new. (I could do as well, or better, and so could about two dozen regulars around these parts.)


So what am I missing?


Or is it time WE banded together and launched a proper Photography (& Video) offering?

I've found the British Journal of Photography to be pretty good, as you say most of the other seem to be an endless loop of gear reviews and how to do HDR/use filters etc
