Complete novice
Discussion
Good afternoon!
I've been wanting to upgrade to a DSLR for a long time now, so last week I purchased myself a Nikon D60 complete with the AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm VR lens. So far I've spent a few hours experimenting and mostly just shooting in auto. I've studied the manual for a while and intend to glue it to my person. Also spent a few days looking at various websites that have some beginner guides regarding aperture, shutter speed etc.
Just wondering if anybody can recommend any other online resources or any good books that people have used in the past that would benefit a novice like myself. I don't mind spending the time nor money to learn, hopefully it'll be worth while. Just want a shove in the right direction ideally. We're going to Australia in a few weeks and I really want to make the most of the opportunity, understandably!
Thank you.

... recommend .... online resources ....
You're starting in one of the best places!Sound choice there, btw.
A good thread to get the little grey cells ticking over happens to be a recent one here: http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0...
PS Get the manual electronically - if you use iPhone at http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/manual-viewer/id468...
Or download it from Nikon's website in pdf form - so much easier to know you have it ready to dip into at any time.
