I'm heading off to Canada soon and was thinking that if I saw this camera for sale cheaper than I can buy it here, then I might treat myself.
I know it's been around for a while now so was wondering if it was still a good buy, or has something come along which is miles better?
Any advice?

Seem like good reviews. Would it be better to have rechargeable batteries or standard batteries? I have a digicam ATM, but it hardly ever gets used because it eats normal AA batteries, even duracell will only get me 15 shots or half an hours worth of use. The Fuji uses normal AA batteries so don't want to have two camera's gathering dust.
I've got its little brother the S5000. Greta little camera and it is very good on batteries! It ws one of the things I was very concerned with as my parentd point and shoot destroys batteries fro fun but the S5000 and I am guessing the S7000 takes 4 AA batteries. You can buy some pretty good rechargable batteries for next to nothing and they last for hours and hours even if you leave the camera on as I do between shots when shooting at rallies!
Just to add, I recently read the review on the new S5000 and the very few things that were wrong with it, ie only 3million MP and a limited range of shutter speeds has been rectified without changing the camera signicantly...very impressed, almost as though it was my very comments that had been taken on board when the new features were announced. If the new S7000 has similar good thinking put into its new design then your on to a winner!
I had the same problem with my A70, but went to www.7dayshop.co.uk and got some 2300 NiMh batteries and have never had any run out on me - this weekend I took 2 1min movies, 164 images, display on all the time, checking images... transfered the images across to the PC and took a few more today and they are still going.
I carry spares with me (only cost £8 for 4) but have never needed them.
