Eye-Fi Digicard - Experience ?

I have got a couple of these, and they were great for 6 months or so, but now I have started having problems with them. It is brilliant to get home, turn the camera on and have all of the images uploaded to my Mac and Flickr automatically, but recently it hasn't happened.
I hope there will be an update to fix.
When they are working, I'd really recommend using them for day-to-day shooting (i.e. under 50 shots), but not if you come back from a longer trip with hundreds of shots.

I had to send my first one back as it kept corrupting images in my D90, not my Panasonic TZ7 though. It eventually died and wouldn't even read in my camera or computer.
I sent it back to Eye-fi and they replaced it with one that seems to be working OK at the moment.
I'm taking pictures at an event in two weeks where I'm going to attempt to use a mi-fi device and upload images live from the event. I've set the card to only upload jpg (I'll shoot Raw+JPG) selected images.

I have one set up with my 550D and not had any troubles yet, only had it about 3 months. But tbh its very very handy not to have to connect it up to the computer each time. I can have my camera set up on my tripod and within 10-15 seconds of taking the picture its available to view on my screen, as long as its within range of my wi-fi!

Thanks for your positive thoughts..Just found this thread after ordering one of these cards... Hmmm i'll let you know if its any good!
Primarily I want it for transferring shots from my camera to my iPhone whilst away from home or out and about, giving me the ability to edit them with PhotoToaster or similar app then upload to Facebook or Instagram etc without the need for a laptop, card readers or anything like that.

Got a Sony RX100 and a Nikon D7000 that I'll test it with.
I use mine in an EOS 1D mkiv. I send raw to the CF card and jpeg to the EYEFI card. The eyefi then sends these images to my ipad for viewing. Once the card and the camera are connected and the first image is received, subsequent images arrive in 3-5 seconds. I think its a great device for checking image composition and sharpness etc. It's just a shame they don't make a CF version so I can use it in my 5D as well.

Works for me on my Sony Xperia Mini and Nexus 7 with a Canon S100. It took a little fiddling though. It appears like you may have to choose which mobile device to use the Eye-Fi card with as you have to connect to the internet to change that. I'm sure I'm missing something so will experiment a bit more over the weekend. Pretty pleased so far.

Tried it in both my Nikon D7000 and my Sony RX100 compact (which is where it will be staying as thats the camera I wanted it for).
Both cameras have support for an Eye-Fi card but the Sony is particularly good, with an option in the menu for turning it on and off, plus a range of on-screen icons showing when it is connected to your phone and when data is being transferred.
As gingerpaul says, it's a bit fiddly when you set it up, but mostly because the instructions are piss poor and you are never quite sure what you have to click yes and no to, plus you have to set up an account with Eye-Fi online to start using it but that's a simple matter of entering an email address and creating a password.
I would NOT recommend you set it up for transferring your photos to your home wifi network, laptop or to the 'cloud' as if you really want to transfer all your camera photos to your laptop whilst sat in the comfort of your home it's probably quicker to just pop out the SD card and pop it into your laptop slot!
I wanted to be able to snap pictures on my RX100 when out and about and have them appear on my iPhone and it does this great as long as you know what to do.
You can do it 2 ways:
leave the Eye-Fi app on your phone turned off and just snap away with the camera as you normally would, then when you want the photos on your phone, just turn the camera on again, launch the Eye-Fi phone app and the all the photos you took will start transferring across one after another automatically, and appear in your phone camera album.
Or, you can launch the App and leave it running on your phone (even while the phone is in 'sleep' or screen off or whatever) and as you take photos, they will pop up in your phone camera album in real time.
I have also added the Eye-Fi app to the iPad and it works just as well there too which is a bonus.
Transfer is really quick, the Sony RX100 outputs rather hefty 20.2 Megapixel images and these only take about 5 seconds each to appear in the phone.
So there you go, a little confusing and fiddly at first, but once you realise how to work it and have the App set up on your iPhone/iPad, it's quick and seamless and does what you want.
Very happy really, well worth £28!
I'm thinking about buying the 8 or 16gb version now that I know it works...
