What do you use for

ii) processing images with (software) e.g. Photoshop
iii) processing images on (hardware) PC or Mac
iv) screen/ monitor(s) size(s)

Finally sorted the spare room into a study, so rather than work off a windows based laptop I'm going to invest in desktop to get my snapping more organised (finally a permanent place for printer, scanner etc), and get on top of backlog of tweaking/ printing (joys of young children).

I currently use Canon Utilty to import RAW images but after hard drive failure I'm open to use new software (used CS2 and Elements), interested if any of you use dual monitors or single screen too.

Any comments on needing good spec graphics card/ standard of monitor HD or otherwise greatly appreciated.

Keep up the good work you guys and gals pics here keep me enthused at the possibilities.

Lightroom 4 on a decent dell laptop (14" screen).

Lightroom and FF photoshop for processing. Use a 21" iMac thingy with 5tb of external storage for daily backups.

i) Me. I don't think I have any workflow beyond drag and drop.

ii) Capture One Pro and Photoshop
iii) A frightfully non-PC PC of indeterminate origin (because everyone is supposed to use a Mac because they're like, intuitive man )

iv) Twin 17s at 1280x1024 native res.

But the main thing is to cobble together, sorry assemble/accumulate a system that works for you - everyone is different. For example, Lightroom makes me want to go out and kill people but millions of people seem to like it.

Self Built PC for hardware (i7 2600K, 16GB RAM, various other things)
Samsung 24" thing as main monitor and an old 19" as a secondary one.

Workflow managed with Bridge
Processing in Photoshop CS5, or sometimes Canon DPP (for DLO or batch)
Processed on a PC
On a 27" Dell IPS screen (U2711) and 22inch side screen.

1) Workflow is drag and drop after looking at the jpg in windows live viewer
2) CS4, reckon I know how to use about 0.5% of it!
3) PC
4) Lenovo laptop, 14 or 15 inch screen I think, am toying with buying a monitor to make this more consistent.

I couldn't get excited by Capture, results were good and just the interface I found frustrating, while Aperture didn't seem to do such a good job for me (and interface was not so friendly). So it just goes to show: trial, trial, trial!

I hated LR at first, but forced myself to use it since a couple of friends were so insistent about it. And now I love it! I think the UI is crap, that's why it's hard to get into.
