Right, the camera is an old Pentax ME super
The lenses are as follows:-
Pentax 1:1.4 50mm No 2349208
PentaxM zoom 1:4 75-150mm No 8113242
Vitivar 1:2.8MC close focus wide angle 49mm No 28421606
Vitivar MC tele converter 2x-22
Prinzflex 80-200mm 1:4.5-5.6 macro
You probably realise I know jack about this subject. These and other cameras were my late fathers and rather than let them sit, I would like to use them. The camera I am not keen on using as it is film.

Ok, the Pentax ME Super uses k-mount.
You can use these lenses, but you'll have to use them in manual mode and they will not auto focus, have a read here: http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/visitors-center...
You can get adapters to use k mount lenses on both Canon and Nikon - a quick google popped up results on ebay.
If its actually worth trying to use these lenses on a modern body I don't know - someone will be along shortly to tell us

IMHO you are getting into some hot water buying a DSLR because of the lenses you have. If as you say you know 'jack s
t' you may well find that having to work in manual mode will be a faff. If you want to get into photography a second hand or new DSLR will cost only about £300 and you can take advantage of modern tech and get the help modern lenses and cameras offer.
I had a Pentax ME in 1978 and the lenses you have, although fine, are not worth that much cash.

For clarity - when we say manual mode it means you do all the work to take the picture - figure out shutter / aperture and because there is no auto focus you'll need to do that too. To be honest it wont be any easier than using the film body.
It will be far easier to learn using modern gear, so if you do want to get in to photography I'd suggest you buy a DSLR, learn with that and then when you've got that far you'll be able to understand using the old lenses.
Alternatively use the film body and have a steep learning slope!

If you like Pentax, sell the old stuff on eBay and start again from new with a Pentax DSLR. If the lenses are manual focus expect about £20 each, more for the 50mm f1.4 and the body.Gassing Station | Photography & Video | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
