Is there an easy to use a HDR software for a beginner?

I want to produce some HDR images of a a few shots of mine from my DSLR, I get bamboosled with layers and what not on photoshop as i've not used it before.

Can someone recommend a programme or tutorial I can folow which isnt massively in depth.

I can take the shots with appropriate expousres etc I just can edit them and know what im doing.

What are you trying to achieve?

Although I know how to use layers nearly everything I do to photos can be achieved using curves and exposure.

Photomatix +1 , the latest version is simple. Load in 3+ shots, OK the defaults, pick the default mix you like, tweak a bit and your done.

If u google HDR images, I want to turn my photos in to those sort of things.

Ill have a bash at the 2 suggested programmes however I had photomatix on my iPhone and I like to mess with saturation and colour effects myself until I think its looks right.

If you have a Canon system, the latest version of DPP will allow you to do basic HDR. Or download Picturenaut 3, which is free and does give decent results without being OTT.

I know some people hate the hdr effect but I don't want all my shots up like that.

I have some pictures from when I visited the Grand Canyon and I want the colours to stand out more than they do.

Have u got this shoots in RAW format? ( or even better with couple different exposures?)
HDR it`s not just a Post processing. You need couple of shoots with different exposures to do this.

If you only have one exosure you could probably get the same result with Shadows/Highlights, ramp up the Saturation with curves and add some contrast.

....not that it would be a good result, overcooked colours rarely make for a good image.
