Software/ online site to creat a collage

Guys

I'm looking for a cheap or on-line piece of software that will help me create a collage of photos of my kids as a christmas present for the missus.
Ideally I'd like to achieve one photo where all the diffent shades of the picture are made up of individual photos, if that makes sense. Something like this:

The only software I'm running for photos right now is iPhoto on the Mac.

I need to to be low cost, I have a decent plotter/ printer at work so printing this of at A1 will be simple for me

Picasa is pretty good for collages, and it's free.

The images you describe are called Photo Mosaics.

No personal experience but google throws up some interesting packages - search Photo Mosaic Software
