I have just purchased the above mentioned camera and I am seriously impressed. I have a 60D with various lenses, flashes and the usual gubbins (all the gear no idea!) so I'm fairly confident that I know my way around a decent photo.
Had it for a week or so now - bought as I'm on business in the US where it was CONSIDERABLY less than in the UK - and yesterday I went for a wander around Washington. It was a miserable day with bright overcast skies which are really quite tough conditions to get decent pictures but the little Canon just brushed it away. Needless to say, the 60D would have given the same if not better results but this is a camera I was walking around with in my pocket and cost a fraction of the SLR. Obviously, there's a few features missing and the lens performance at anything other than wide (F2.0) isn't as good but that's to be expected.
