Colour profiling

Might be able to help me here.
I'm looking to get a few photos printed by a lab. I've edited all of my photos in LR, using the SRGB profile, however it recommends to export in their own colour profile.
Doing so, and looking at the results on screen, their colour profile is much much warmer than SRGB and the photo I edit on LR is looking too warm when exported using their profile.
I'm on a Mac and cant afford the calibration tools for the job, but wanted to get somewhere close. Unfortunately I think I know the answer to my question - "theres no way of telling which is right as your monitor isn't calibrated".
Should I look to cool the photo down so that it looks ok when exported in their profile? Is there anyway to view photos in LR in the colour profile you are exporting in so that you can see what you're doing rather than trial and error?

I used DSCL for a commercial job and apart from having an incomprehensible website, they didn't ask for profiles, prices were very good and the results were fine.
I process RAWs to sRGB JPG and have my own monitor profile via Adobe Gamma (now defunct apparently).
Maybe they are now worrying over profiles due to customer problems?

Well i've sent for an order.
The problem I had was that even when soft-proofing the image in LR, it came out looking totally different as the saved Jpeg. Side by side on screen were showing wide differences in warmth and contrast.
I've sent for the ones i've edited using their profile, plus one of my originals. It'll be interesting to see where the printed image is in relation to the 2 completely different profiles I've sent for.
I quite like the way it works, and if I get decent results i'll use them again, but I'll just have to see whereabouts their print is with my monitor.
