Nikon 500mm f4.

Hood is a bit tatty but the lens is in excellent condition, and I look forward to spying on my neighbour as she gets dressed evey morning taking photos of birds etc from further a little further away.

Sadly its just a lowly AF-S Mk1 about 1999 or thereabouts.

I've got that all sorted Simpo. Popped to the local builders merchant, got some wide pipe. Stuck some clingfilm on one end and gaffer taped the other end to the housing. Stuck some silicone glue round just to be on the safe side. Job's a good un

Well, conditions and time have not been with me recently, so not really had a chance to get to grips with the lens yet.

Did manage to pop out last week and today, but the light was rubbish and the lens doesn't want to focus as fast as I thought it would. Plus it's a bugger to wield, even with a gimbal head.

So this is the best of a bad bunch so far, I am afraid...

Went to Pulborough Brooks today to see the resident barn owl.

This is the best I came up with





Hopefully when the light is better and I have some more time to play with it some more I'll get the hang of it.

I like the Green Woodpecker best out of those four shots. The last shot needs a much faster shutter speed than you used there to stop the motion blur on the Owl. I'd suggest using 1/1000 sec as a starting point

I know 2slo.

Twas VERY dark and murky and the ISO was cranked up just to get a semi fast shutterspeed so it was never going to work sadly
