Not everybody in the world has an ebay account, and I don't see mention of bank transfers only - so you'll be covered by Paypal and your card, if you use it.
Furthermore, if you are concerned the kit doesn't exist in his possession, simply ask for a photo to your email address or added to the listing with his username written on a piece of paper, pictured alongside the camera.

Why bother with the aggro ? Its not as if its the only one in the world.....

Ebay/Paypal holds the funds for new ebayers till the item/seller gets a positive feedback, a SNAD report, a neg or neutral would mean an instant refund

seems odd to even try selling a dodgy item

The only thing that would concern me with this is that it's not located in the uk. Apart from that we all had to start with zero feedback.

Ive bought from Hungary, no probs with seller or HMRC and also Hong Kong, Ive also sold to Hungary with signed for postage, so the overseas element doesnt worry too much, its always the scam element that ebay worries me with, but the protection should make it no (or low) risk i suppose.

in the sellers ebay page he has no other listings...BUT, he does have listings

4 identical Canon cameras with flash....

how has he done that?

BUYING a CD FROM another local if I am not mistaken. Interesting that the price, presumably converted, came to exactly £56. Bumped from a fiver by two bidders who, at the time, would neither have had any feedback.

We do live in an interesting world these days.

It must be great. Open an eBay account, list five imaginary cameras, wait for five muppets to come and buy them, then transfer the funds from your Paypal account before they turn up demanding it back. £2,000 'ching' no questions asked, then run away.

But Paypal funds arent released till a buyer gives positive feedback if the seller is a newbie...
