I might just try a repeat of my most successful trip last year: I managed to spend £0.00 all day (although it did confirm the subsequent extravagance of a new camera body!)
Not even the car park? If you got away with that it would be interesting to compare notes (privately of course!)K12beano said:
Train trip - true I paid for that, but nothing inside (took a flask so that I didn't have to queue and pay silly prices!)
Ah, OK.Agree about the refreshments costs. I did once have a coffee and some biscuits whilst taking the opportunity to chat to someone but normally the day is quite survivable without any need to refresh. It helps that I am about a 45 minute drive away from the NEC so long as I avoid rush hour.
Hmm.
Plans a bit fluid for this one.
It's always tempting to be there on Wednesday in case there are good 'don't want to carry this lot back to the van' deals going. But I have a tele conference late that afternoon and I don't want to spand an hour on the mobile. (Unless I can find a BT WiFi point at or near the NEC in which case it would be fine, maybe.)
However I think there will be an important package arriving on Monday or Tuesday and I would like to be around for that. Not sure when I will know which day it is expected - perhaps they will let me know tomorrow.
Not Sunday though - that's definite. (I think).

I'm going Sunday too, was going to go during the week but next week looks a busy one.
Looking to pick up a used 24mm TS-E if I see one (last year there was a few places doing used gear) and am quite tempted by the Gossen Digisky meter now it can trigger and adjust Elinchrom flash through Skyport.

Would have loved to have gone (never been and keep meaning to) but unfortunately I'm in Spain for a week.
Could have done with having a look for a new backpack.
With so few high street places left now FoI is one of the best places to see bags and stuff. In fact it's so good it gets utterly confusing and probably requires at least a couple days just to work through all the bag and case options on show!Could have done with having a look for a new backpack.
Or at least that is how it has been in previous years.

You should try Photokina, I nearly wore out a pair of shoes seeing it all..... had to hack our way though snowdrifts and ice to get to the

I've not been to one of these before; I'm considering buying a 6d and 24-105, am I likely to be able to get a better deal at a show like this than I can using t'internet? (Thinking about an import from DigitalRev or similar) Or are prices much the same so it's mainly a great opportunity to see and try everything?
