Quality wise is there much difference in the video?
Whats the main advantage of the Go pro rather than use an iPphone to capture your videos?
Stupid question probably, but seen a kit for the iPhone that will allow it to us the go pro connection/support parts, including waterproofing it, and I thought why not ?

I can answer this from a 4S point of view - yes, there is. The GoPro is wider, better quality and better 'definition' I think is probably the best way to describe it. It gets beaten down on sound quality as-is though

Go Pro on a stty as you like day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JdApbENwqQ

iPhone 4S, similar low light levels but worse mounting

one is a £450 phone with a camera the other is a £350 camera without a phone. . . . Make your own mind up with that!

I also have both and the Go Pro is much better (and you can stick it on the front of your car in the rain) ... but battery life is much worse.

The main difference is that the GoPro has around twice the field of view, which makes it much better for 'action' shots or when using it in-car for track days etc, as it enhances the sense of speed.

Do you have a link to the kit that lets you use GoPro mounts with an iphone and the waterproof case?

I can't do the link thing yet as I'm on my iPhone , but, it's on kickstarter and looks impressive case. It also has 3 built in lenses for wide angle as well extreme close up. Not sure how the sound would work in a waterproof case though?
Cost is usd48 plus 10usd for shipping, so pretty cheap.
Or just too good to be true...
Will try to attach a lonly over the weekend but a bit of a busy one planned

What about when your iPhone rings during filming etc? I have both and I only really use the iPhone to set up the GoPro via the GoPro app.

here is the link

no notable objects in the filming quality means this seems to be a bit of a bargain way to do videoing, as long as you have an iphone of course!

Isn't that a ripoff of this?

With the exception that he's also ripped off the GoPro mount tech?

I must admit to being a man of little scruples, if he rips off the go pro mount allowing all the connectivity that is available, then copies another product and sells it at half price, i might just buy it from him smile
