Yep, love it to bits. Three things to watch out for: make sure you update the firmware, as mine had a bit of a habit of locking up originally - much better now; also, I keep it in a jacket pocket, and both the power and exposure-compensation controls are a bit too easy to nudge, so I find that it's either been left on for days and flattened it's battery, or I pull it out in a hurry and find that it's wound itself down to -2EV. Oh, and naturally the battery life isn't great, and I don't see the spares often, so grab one when you see it.
Wow - that is a proper bit of kit. The fit and finish on it looks proper old school!

I'm very tempted by a refurb X10 at £250, but the new X20 seems to address almost every misgiving about the X10 that has stopped my buying one already!I have the x100 Black Edition (and like most people here no doubt, it is just one of several camera's and quality glass I own) it's a beautiful thing in both the way it is made and the pictures it produces. Colour rendition (especially skin tone) is outstanding and extremely natural.
Whilst it is not the ideal camera for every task or person due to the fixed prime, quirky GUI and manual approach to photography but with practice and patience it really can do many things exceptionally well including; fast moving action shots, street, landscapes and portraiture photos.
The fixed prime forces you to approach your photography in a different way to modern point and shoots / DSLRs which for me made photography exciting again.
As a camera it can be a challenge and certainly is not aimed at beginners given that it requires you to understand the technical basics of photography and camera’s, but it is all the better for it.
The best camera I own bar none.

Well, if I get one it will be the first 'proper' digital camera that I have owned. I'm a Luddite when it comes to photography and still use film, some 35 mm but mostly medium format nowadays. I like landscape stuff and portraiture, hardly ever used the zoom lenses that I've bought over the years so the layout of the x100 has a lot of appeal for me.
