Anyone here got one?

My pocket digital has packed up and my decent standard zoom lens Cannon
did the same a year or so back, so trying to combine the two in one.

Thoughts, comments? Spending around £250.00

You could save £47 and get one of these:
www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0001HWJ88/pd_ka_0/202-1990234-1905440

I discovered it has a 'supermacro' mode which goes down to almost 2cm!

Only 3xOptical Zoom though as opposed to 10xOptical Zoom?

I've got one, and I'm very happ[y with it. Suits me fine. Liked the big screen on the back, and the 10x zoom. Piccys are good.

If you want more information, the best sites on the web are

www.dpreview.com

www.dcresource.com

www.imaging-resource.com

www.dcviews.com

If you are looking for a fairly cheap and smallish 10x zoom camera similar to the DX6490 then the shortlist is probably:

Canon Powershot S1 IS, Fuji Finepix S5000, Olympus C-750, and Minolta Dimage Z2.

Prices vary, and I'd recommend :

www.dealtime.co.uk for finding the cheapest vendor.

At the time I bought, the Kodak was the best around (taking into account price).
