It was done from a SLR camera mounted on a 6 rotor helicopter. 2 people to use it. It is a stunning bit of kit made of carbon. Should hopefully be at our next event march 23 at curborough again smile

Awesome video, puts my efforts at flying a camera equipped quadracopter to shame :P

How many cars are at your next event, Alex? Trying to decide whether to come, and if so whether to come in my Celica or my Mini (to see how well it handles it!) but if you've got loads of cars booked on already I'll wait until the next one smile

I will ask the Copter company as I am unsure they only state canon on there equipment link http://rotorshot.co.uk/?p=107 . On board was just a GoPro HD camera.

sorry, i thought the gopro was on the chopper

was there no H&S "issues" having the chopper over the circuit?

(we are only 5 miles from curborough)

It was all cleared for the day. The controllers were to stay in designated areas and everyone was aware they were operating so no major issues once everyone was briefed. The GoPro view would be to borad I tinhk been a 180 degrees view.
They should be back with us March 23rd at the next trackdaydrivers.com event for some more footage.

Great aerial footage Alex.

All the times we have done Curborough in our Caterham's and we have never had footage like that!

Must try harder next time! smile

Thanks Nigel,

Weve had a few caterhams on our days previously. We always do onboard footage. This however has been fantastic to be able to do.

They have told us they will be with us March 23. These 2 events will be isolated due to cost.

Looking at the website id guess the DSLR is a Canon, they are used in "pole" photography as they can link to a laptop via cable which can operate the camera shutter

wireless feed is a whole new game!
